competition
Meaning there is activity to strive to be the best at something.
Example of using it in a sentence "Ena has often finished in the top 3 at the horse competitions she takes part in."
This is another Latin word; the root word means ‘to strive for.’ You have to work for the results, there is a table of the best and your ranking is being found by taking part in something, for example; a race.
Spelling tip: we need to make sure we have the right number of ‘I’s’ and we need to not this is in the ‘tion’ family and not the ‘sion’ family.
com + pet + i + tion
Use the word as many times throughout the week. This can be verbally, in your written work or listen out for other people using it.
