The Home School Advent Calendar - 16th December
It's our last week of the autumn term, and we have a Christmas card challenge. Today, I encourage you to spend time creating your Christmas card. Focus on planning and ensure the artwork is impressive.
Did you know that Queen Victoria sent the first official Christmas card? The first commercially available Christmas card was commissioned by Sir Henry Cole and designed by John Callcott Horsley, sold in London in 1843.
In the UK, charities such as Action for Carers (Surrey), which we support, raise an estimated £50 million from Christmas card sales. You will also notice that the cards you receive from me support the RNLI. So, we are doing our bit!
